MPD’s part number BH2DW is a battery holder that accepts two D-cell batteries in a series configuration with an output of 3 volts when using alkaline cells. The holder is made of black polypropylene offering good stiffness, heat resistant, homopolymer and is rated for food contact. The BH2DW has a UL94-HB flammability rating, and a temperature range of -10°C to +100°C. The spring contacts are nickel-plated spring steel, brass eyelets with nickel plating with wire leads. The BH2DW is also RoHS 2 compliant for worldwide distribution and meets worldwide standards, guaranteeing quality. D cell’s are also called UM-1 batteries, R20, ANSI/NEDA 13A carbon zinc batteries and alkaline numbers LR20, ANSI/NEDA 13D and also common rechargeable batteries. The BH2DW uses 2-65 machine screws or eyelets for mounting purposes.
